Yesterday I started up my pc and it would only go as far as the"starting window" thing and the windows logo. So I called Dell and got a real nice guy named Ronald who spent 2 hours on the phone with me running diagnostics etc. Anyway we found I could boot into windows using safe mode with networking. He had me install my old HD to see if that was the problem and it wasn't,so finally he talked to his manager and they're sending a tech over next week to install these parts. Yes I'll be sure and put my 740QM back in. To top it all off, when I got off the phone with him, the damn thing was working fine again and still is today. I dont know if I should call them back or just let them replace all those parts

I would just let them replace it. It may be working now, but there's no telling if it will stay working or if one of those parts will go out.

I'm just a little concerned about what I've heard on this forum about some of these Dell tech guys.

Watch them like a hawk when they do the repair. I can't stress this enough. My last tech stripped the screws off the cpu heat sink while I was cooking dinner. My first visit they put a long scratch into the lid. Some are good, some are just...

    Anyways... point is... WATCH THEM!

So just watch them really closely. Ask questions. You might be a burden on them, they may act annoyed, but this is your laptop/investment!
