    !! Help - Blinking Cusor - Hangs !!

    I just recieved My M17x-R2 yesterday. Played The sims 3 on it last night. At this point thats all I have installed. Now I get to work today and plug in and power on and right after alienhead boot screen there is a cursor in the top left corner that blinks. Can not get past that. I have reset several times. I have remove batt and power and held power button. What should i DO!!! Im lost and about to freak out. THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!

    That typically means that the BIOS is having problems finding a bootable device. You may wanna see if there are any printers/flash drives/mp3 players hooked up to the machine as the machine will see those as storage devices and try to boot from them. If this is not the case. You may have gotten a bad drive. Try running the diagnostics on the drive and see if its good. If the drive is good then just about the only other thing it could be is OS corruption or a faulty SATA controller on the motherboard.

    Thats not what i was hoping to hear :( - There is nothing in any of the drives. The HDD test passes everytime...... guess i can try to reinstall the OS.... Bummer. Wasted a whole day installing my games and moving all my itunes music over..

    I have a similar problem, after enabling raid 0 and reinstalling my OS I always require 2 boot ups to get the machine to turn on. I believe it's trying to boot from the disc drive even though its near the bottom of the boot menu, I also suggest a reinstall of the OS.
