Nice, but I'd hold off till CES 2011 and see what's next for alienware.

I've sold a M17x R2 to an international buyer on ebay to Australia for $2300. The fact that he didn't buy it from the local dell online store made me wonder if he's getting a better price from a US seller. So I checked the Australia Dell's M17 prices and found they're about 800 bucks more than the one sold in US, which is nutz.

So I agree, Australia overprice like crazzzzy.

Not true. The entry level M17x for the US website has much lower specs than the Australian one. If you matched the specs up on the US website Australia actually comes out cheaper!

The $200 off is because it's the end of their life. I'm pretty sure it is due to newer version coming out on CES 2011. You can see the order ends on Jan 6th, which is the date CES starts. Coincidence?

Hmmm that IS interesting... we know an M17/x-R3 is due, that just supports it even more.
