    Note!
    This is an OEM activation, that can be performed on any of the Alienware machines as long as it was shipped with one of Windows 7 operating systems preinstalled (Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate).

    Story behind this:
    My windows sticker scratched off, so after doing a fres install i no longer had "Genuine" windows. I've started searching over the web and i've found that manufacturers put "SLIC" information into BIOS that is then later on read by OS to determine if the system came with manufacturer preinstalled OS. Since my laptop came with Windows 7 that meant i must have had the SLIC information inside BIOS, and i've searched over the web how to activate it.
    All you need to do is install appropriate certificate "Alienware" in my case and an OEM serial. After some search i've found the Alienware certificate for Windows 7 and appropriate master OEM serial, and learned how to activate using the two. So now i'm here to help out others having the same issue.

    All you need to do is download this package, extract and run the appropriate activator for your current installed version.
    Ultimate -> Ultimate
    Professional -> Professional
    Home Premium -> Home_Premium

    You will receive 1 prompt telling you certificate is installed, and the second one telling you the serial is installed and windows activated.

    In case of error, run it as administrator. (I have UAC disabled so everything runs as Administrator :p)

    If you have been using different activators, and activation disablers, then this activation might not work as some activators remove files needed for activation.

    Warning!
    You can activate other versions of MS Windows 7 than you had (If you had Professional you can activate Ultimate if you have Ultimate installed now)
    I don't think that's fair, but on the other hand i have no control over what you do , so i just trust you will use it for what I made it for.

    This is all made by me, and there is absolutely no viruses or any other crap, so use with confidence :)

    While we appreciate the good intentions that I am confident is your reason for sharing this, and some will find the information very valuable, I am not sure that Micro$oft or Dell/Alienware would approve of this because the process uses a shared product key instead of the one provided by the OEM and it is outside the scope of their licensing provisions for factory pre-installed Windows operating systems. "Upgrading" for free is also a no-no. It is unfortunate that the COA labels are not more durable than they are. And, it is silly that they are often placed in a spot where they will be worn and weathered. Underneath a battery or on the inside of an easily removed access cover would have been much smarter places for them. Perhaps that is one of the reasons Micro$oft ditched the COA model with Windows 8.

    The best alternative is to back up your Windows product key and activation files and keep a permanent record of your product key (I take photos and store the images) so that finding a means of circumventing the prescribed activation process is not necessary. ABR (Activation Backup and Restore) and Advanced Tokens Manager (works for MS Office, too) are both very effective alternatives for those that take the right steps to be prepared.

    See Forum Rules for guidance... this is pushing the envelope a bit on what some may feel constitutes software piracy, so I am going to close this thread.
