I ordered a new Alienware 15 with one of their sales agent 3 days ago. I paid with bank transfer and he comfirmed that they received the money. But today when I checked the status, the only thing left there is:

    Article: MOD, INFO, GNRC
    Status:Cancelled
    (translated from German)

I did send email to my sales agent to ask whether there is a price match, as it is 10% discount this weekend. But no one replied me.

Anyone has any experience on this? Could anyone give me some advices?

Hahaha. You're so funny with your clevo propaganda ^^ . I heard however that they changed the heatsink in the P750DM3, they shortened the pipes or something like that no ?

I paid with paypal my alienware 15, they cancelled my first order. I contacted them via chat.
They told me to wait for the AW15 to be in stock and friday they called me, I placed a new order (Didn't pay for the previous one ), and received an order confirmation.

So with zero hesitation use the dell chat function monday morning, this money will be back into your account quickly I hope.

This is a more expensive option for me.

It is always not so helpful in EU. Some country do not have live vhat. For the better ones, like the one in Germany, they sometimes just stop a chat without asking your permission.

Ordered mine from France ;). Thing is you need to contact them if you want a hassle-free reimbursement and/or get your AW15 as quickly as possible. So monday try the chat you have nothing to lose. Had the same problem as you (order cancelled) and ended up fixing it with the chat dell 'expert', I had to contact them several times before getting a good answer but still it's solved I hope.

Did you re-ordered or it was just fixed? Do they have price match here in EU?

I had to re-order, but don't re-order before chatting with them, they told me to re-order. Dell france does not ship to Germany ;). If you're a student do not hesitate to ask for a 10% discount in the chat btw.

They do not offer student discount neither in Germany nor in the Netherlands.Sad.
Do you re-order before or after your money comes back? I can't wait to re-order, but I am afraid that there may be some problem with my current order and I will have to receive 2 laptops.

That sucks :(, but be sure, for DELL France nothing states that there is student discount, I had to ask the sales rep directly if there were rebates for students, don't hesitate to ask ;), I really think you can negociate a little student coupon if you are one.
I paid via paypal, so the initial order was an 'authorization' to take money but the money never left my account in the first place (they take the money sometimes during production). However I explicitely told them to revoke that authorization and cancel the initial order for good. if you already paid ask for a reimbursement monday via chat and wait for it to come back before ordering again. i had to wait for the AW15 to go back in stock to order again, the sales rep that took care of my case called me to order again, after making sure that the first order was cancelled for good. That's why my advice would be to go via chat, simply because it worked for me :).

With all due respect, it's a post about an alienware order, not EACH post on the alienware thread should receive 50 'buy a clevo instead', this is just not normal...it's a thread about ALIENWARE laptops, if someone wants sales advice they won't post it here or at least they will clearly state that they want advices.

I don't think it's forbidden to post that of course, you have the freedom to say everything you want, but all those clevo remarks or those bga vs lga clevos are polluting the AW thread it's just toxic behaviour borderline trolling imho, moderators have to go over threads multiple time to clean those posts ;).

Clevo is more expensive here in EU.
I'd need some mobility and battery life. So Clevo is not so perfect for me.

At least on a laptoo, I need at least some way to use iGPU to save some battery. I don't need a DTR from this point of view.

    I am using P150sm.

That is not a Clevo LOL. That is an MSI 15 inch with 6700K and 1070. The improved enthusiast version of the GT62VR. It will soon be available with 7700K and 1080, but only from Eurocom. MSI only sells turdbooks with their own branding.

As I have already mentioned, brand is meaningless and irrelevant.

I am not sure. I have not been following the details on that model because it does not interest me.

And @Diversion and @Talon who owns the beast, can explain how long the battery can lasts without connected to electricity in this models. A decent choice for portability.

Ah sorry my mistake . Rectification :
It's lga propaganda ^^. But yes I know lga > bga, thing is I'm not satisfied at all by the cooling of this year's clevo LGA laptops, this GT62VR with an LGA I doubt it will manage good temps with a 6700K unless it's a delid+ big UV seeing the average 6700HQ thermal management in the GT62VR.

Actually, it is doing fine. But, tuning performance and delid is certainly a best practice for those with the right knowledge and skills.

The first mistake you made was communicating only via email. You should call and call again. You have to be persistent about it. Dell cannot legally take your money until they ship the product to you. They simply check to see if the balance is available by withdrawing it (immediately) and then return it back to you. That's how it's supposed to be, anyway.

My recommendation is that you continue to call with your original order information and explain exactly what is happening.

I actually have one of those in front of me, very nice.

Anyways - the laptop Mr.Fox is referring too, when it opens up - has ALOT of room to breath, and cool. If you wanted a laptop you could use as a VERY EASY test bench - this would be it. You can remove the back panel and it's wonderfully easy to access everything, there is not even arbitrary walls preventing things from being larger.

let me show you. (one sec I take pic for you) [IMG]

with other laptops, form what we have witness being the issue for longivity and upgradeability was not enough room for the newer larger components. THIS HAS ROOM. no walls for no reason. much greater access to all components.
    \

theres a ton of things I would point out about this laptop and why I love it, and I'm just discovering them now, but this is the wrong forum for it so I won't do it here. But yeah oddly it's funny it's sold by a Clevo reseller but it's an MSI.

I am expecting one of those to arrive around the end of the week. I'm looking forward to it. The open interior is awesome. The only thing I am not sure about is whether the Intel iGPU is disabled like it is on the best Clevo models. I hope that it is. Everything I can see about it in photos looks fantastic.

It's interesting that the only laptop that is not made by Clevo that I would entertain the notion of owning isn't even being marketed as an MSI product. It's nice to know MSI has the ability to make something that isn't a BGA turdbook. They need to do this for all of their laptops. It's a shame their flagship "Titan" line is such a joke with a castrated CPU.

Perhaps the reason they aim at pure power enthusiasts? And all know MSI prefer retailers geared toward gamer boys

MSI is run by traitors, but this is status quo for the gaming notebook industry. They prefer to make money selling to consumers with low standards over building products that are acceptable to enthusiasts. As @Prema says, they imitate rather than innovate. As long as most of their customers have no idea what they are buying, or don't care about how it is designed, they don't have to be bothered with doing a good job on everything.

one thing your going to like is where the screws screw in, on the inside around the motherboard are solid metal brackets supporting the chassis entirely. First time I seen a laptop this this in all corners just for this. So instead of screwing into some metal grommit inserted into small plastic grooves that are not very sturdy or thick - it's built much tougher.

Yeah the MS16L1 is a Jewel, every few years we get a great laptop. This is one in the right direction, odd for MSI because they are usually copying idea's from ASUS and Clevo's from what I've seen over the years (or they were always rebranding with a new chassis, someone else's work.)

What I wonder is why did MSI not use this themselves, what was it about it they didn;t believe in. It's more future proof then what they usually come out with. It's actually what they promised the GT70+ owners would get but didn't.

I think MSI trying to hide this socket machine. It is more aimed at people who need power and not the gamer boys. This is a shame!! This model would sold much better if it was advertised more by MSI.

I thought ti was such a great concept for a laptop, I will be building a site featuring it, the way MSI usually does it. Guess I will do it for them !

Well, I suppose if a company is a copycat and borrows ideas from companies that know how to do things right for as many years as MSI has, they will eventually get one or two things right if only by accident. I'd love to see this model made insanely popular by Eurocom and lots of former MSI fanboys defecting to Eurocom to get the only MSI model worth buying. It's already gaining enough traction that it would be accurate to say MSI is run by retards if they are not paying attention. MSI needs to re-evaluate their approach and mends their ways. They need to knock it off with the over-hyped BGA trashbooks. They're in the same league as Alienware when it comes to lies and deceptive marketing.

I'm heading to NYC to watch the Dane Cook show this weekend, but otherwise I'd throw some performance benches up, but I got no room to really move all my offices are full of equipment at the moment I need for other projects. However - when I get back - I think I will in detail show what this laptop can do (If I still have it) . I suspect it will be great.

Okay to the OP : Just call DELL and sort it out, let them know how this has affected you. Do not bother with the email support for this, it's not the same quality. Make sure you contact the USA global sales team, if unsure - ask which team you talking too. Ask to escalate the issue, and raise a ticket. Call back the next day and ask for an update, give them the ticket number. When they fail at whatever they promise you, start referencing all that you have done and start over - but keep escalating it until they fix it to your satisfaction. Your a paying customer. They will listen.
