Today i installed Vista on my m15x and didnt load all those rubbish stuff that came with respawn, to my amazement my laptop runs so much faster and better smoother and all that jive.

I recommend you all do that if u want a customized one where you'd know you gonna get quality assured software installation.

Want it done right you gonna have to do it yourself.

    yes i am :)

i dont know why AW dont use OS Leopard as an option because this OS rocks man.

I have never seen anything like Leopard before - i used to think PC and Microsoft was IT.

Not anymore not till i have seen the multimedia stuff that is so unimaginable on Microsoft OS.

From now on I am only buying Mac OS.

by the vista dvd, do you mean...

the DVD that comes with a newly bought laptop, if you've chosen the OS included config? ...isn't that dvd usually labeled the recovery disk? my bro just bought a laptop and it came with the dvd..but it says recovery disk, is it the same "vista dvd" you are talking about?

I got the Vista Ultimate DVD 32 bit that came with our Laptop and used that to reinstall Vista. i Killed all the partitions made by AW and partitioned the HD myself.

You will see a huge like 300% difference in performance and you will love your laptop they way it is supposed to be.

I dont know where it has gone wrong with AW because they charged me $99 to tweaked my laptop but i got a laptop that refused to play DVD and BD movies - the message said "It's illegal to play DVD movies" what a stupid message.

I installed my own PowerDVD made for HD and BD and that solved the problem.

I didnt install all the junk that came preisntalled from Recovery Spawn DVD.

Now my laptop is so nice and so fast.

Just use EasyBCD. It's a program to manage the MBR (Master Boot Record). You'll have to add 2 NST Mac OS X's though, for some reason.

The program itself is very useful if your MBR gets corrupted.

I think we should stop it right there... if I recall correctly it's a violation of NBR policy to talk about dual booting OSX...

Even if those systems are purchased? It is not like we sit by the fire and share crack/hack methods. We are asking help on how to dual boot a purchased Vista with a purchased Leopard. I have a mac with it. I want to put it on my U6 when it arrives.

Personally, mine barely works. Most of the time it's the keyboard, maybe I just need a different one (different OS X that is).

    Ok I'm done now.

no, I know, but I think we're getting into a gray zone which NBR doesn't like to talk about. I could be entirely wrong, and it's not like I personally want to stop your convo, but I don't want a mod doing it for us

technically yes, because OSX's EULA specifies that the purchaser of the software only use it on Apple hardware. The legal validity of those types of EULAs is unknown, but again, I think NBR just wants to avoid the topic.

If one searches on google there are plenty of other places to get information on this subject...

They should have thought of this before they decided to align their hardware with the rest of the world. Dumb strategy for apple. They could make so much money if they would allow PC users to put Leopard.

In my personal opinion, with no formal law training (but plenty of online debates ;)), I think that the provision would and should be struck down. In the past the courts have allowed, even demanded, usage of "foreign" devices with other devices so long as things are purchased legally -- that's why you see emulators (e.g. I am legally allowed to run my TI-83 calculator software on my computer or anywhere else because I legally own the copy of the software -- now, people who download a copy of the TI-83 bios from the net, now that's illegal). In fact there was a case yeeears ago, back in the days when AT&T (then still with a US monopoly) was forced to allow third-party phones and equipment on their network so long as they complied with regular AT&T hardware. That's more related to the concept of monopoly in law, but it still shows that companies have limited rights in trying to force their customers from using their products or services in unintended ways.

anyway, I'm way off topic now, so I'll stop

Don't get it, too... Maybe they are just lazy and don't want to go trough the trouble of making shure it runs on every PC available?

    Thread closed.

NBR does not allow EULA breaking activities like running/installing OSX on PC laptops.
