High res is better for everything including web browsing, how much better for web browsing just depends on how well optimised a website is. I feel cramped moving back to a 1024x768/1280x1024 screen now. Notebookforum while being quite slow compared to some sites actually scales very nicely, on a 1920x1200 this entire post is less than 2 lines of text :D

I had it and it wasn't bad for anything ....

But if you can afford 1900 I would get it

While were on this particular subject......Folks, im very near to closing the deal on an M17x. I want the higher resolution, but im a little gunshy about it because I dont have the best vision and want to be able to read webpages. I know the rez is obviously good for video and games. im completely new to Vista. is there a shore fire way to make text size bigger? Thanks!

^^Thanks. I guess in my mind, when I think of that resolution, I just imagine everything super small and me having to squint my eyes to see webpages. On another note, I told the relashonship manager I wanted to hold off for 24 hours. I want to see what Alienwares new offerings were tomorrow.

Everything is sharper at high res, think of it that way. Im sure win7 with more desktop space will be nice.

Definitely go for the higher rez, i ordered mine with the 1440 and have been trying to get hold of the 1920 ever since, finding it difficult though. Got a M17x 1920 LCD but have been told its not compatible with my M17....
