So I'm just browsing the internet on it the other day, nothing crazy, and it just shuts down for no reason. It doesn't restart, the damn thing just turns off.

After restarting it, it seemed fine.

Then today, I'm playing BFBC2 and it does the same thing, just totally shuts off.

Upon turning it back on, it shut off while Windows was loading. Totally afraid to even turn it back on, what the hell is going on?

Well as an update I managed to get the system to start up, and now it seems like it's not recognizing the power supply (the battery is draining with the system plugged in, but there's no error message or anything).

Could it (hopefully) just be the power supply? When the system was frantically shutting off, if the power supply had gone the battery would still have been fully charged.

Try plugging it in without the battery.

If you haven't already boot into your BIOS and see if the system identifies the 240 Watt PSU.

If it's n ot showing there or indicates "unknown" call dell and get a new one.

Damn dude you have been really getting a lot of pain with the R2, call dell and see if they will replace it especially if you have complete care.

Yes, Mandrake is right on, this happened to me once too, and plugging it in without the battery did fix the problem.

I don't have the R2 but my R1 did the same thing twice.
Does the power supply still works (check the blue light on the cable)? Mine didn't and unplugging then plugging again the power supply a few times worked (from the wall not the PC).

Also check if you've disabled the battery through FN + F2. In that case draining the battery will fix everything.
