Had a screen replace by a crappy dell tech because of dead pixels. The tech scratched up my laptop and put dents in it, trying to pry open my laptop with his screw driver. Also they sent a refurbished screen instead of new one, the replacement was even worst then the original. Called dell tech support about it, they will not send me a replacement even though i sent them pics of the damage. Instead they will send another tech to repair the damage and replace a new screen. Then today when I try to turn it on, nothing blank screen. Lights turn on, cap lock light is on, scroll and number lock blinking. Called tech support again and no luck trouble shooting, they say I have to wait for the new tech to take a look at it before they can do anything else. Now I'm stuck with a 10lb brick. Will this nightmare ever end, I'm really tempted to return and get a refund and say farewell to alienware and dell forever.

What do you guy think that would cause this to happen?

Update: I think I smell something from it, maybe burnt gpu???

    :( :( :( :( :( :(

If you're within your 21 day return period, file for a return. Tell them the system was defective and a tech subsequently damaged and bricked it.

Yeah I have to wait for Monday, I guess Customer Support is on a Holiday weekend or something. Is there a better number to reach customer support.

Dell isn't so generous anymore. Guess the tough economic times are impacting their bottom line as well.

Doesnt some people got a lot of free mouse, headphone, keyboard and stuff just because of shipment delayed? The OP is in a much worse situation so he deserves better.

Return it. I can't see any possible reason not to return it.

Don't stall time. You are within the return policy to return the unit, regardless of what the tech support say. By the time for the tech to repair it to working condition, your return policy will expire and you are stuck with a working defective uint. You spent enough money already, dont let them waste your time. Get a replacement.

Update: Yeah I getting a replacement M15x, had to call Customer Support instead of Tech Support. Man Tech Support was a complete pain to deal with, would not gave me a replacement no matter what. A five min call to Customer Service and done. Hopefully replacement will come before new years.
