well i have looked around the forums a lot before i decided to purchase a new laptop. i have heard of alienware before and i knew their products were top notch. after searching the forums for a while i found out their customer service wasn't that good. i decided to go ahead anyway and buy a new m17 for $2,000 knowing it has better specs than some other machines i was looking at. i ordered on December the 6th figuring it would arrive by christmas, since the estimated ship date was December the 22nd. December the 12th i contacted alienware wondering the status of my laptop since it had not been updated passed Phase 1. they said it was being held up in financing (since i applied for the credit card) so they transferred me to dell financing and they said it was just fine, no problems in financing. so later that day, the alienware credit card arrived at my house so i know it was not being held up in the financing process. yesterday i contacted them again wondering the status since it had been a week since i ordered my laptop with no update. they transferred me to dell financing again who then transferred me back to the original 800 number i called then they transferred me to some sort of "customer service". today i contacted them again on the 10th day after the order and i talked to Karl (or something along those lines) and he transferred me to LaTisha who said there is a glitch in the system and it is right on track. i wondered why they had originally said it was being held up in financing if it was a glitch in the system. i am going to wait until tomorrow to see if it updates since they are going to call me back and if not im going to cancel the order.

i knew i was in for bad customer service from reading these forums but 10 days in Phase 1? that seems a little ridiculous

If you buy it with your credit card , it would go faster.
    That's what I head.

i do have enough to pay it off now but im still in high school and would prefer to save money to go to college so making monthly payments was a more appealing process to me

if not i'll just cancel and pick up a sager np5793 and pay it off in one shot

Same boat. Opted for the financing. Same deal, stuck in phase 1 for 11 days now actually. What's interesting, I qualified for the financing almost 3 weeks PRIOR to the order. I got the same song and dance about how it's pending financing, blah blah blah...

Not sure how that's possible, as I said, received the documentation for the financing with the card, the terms, the whole bit in the mail 3 weeks prior to the order.

God only knows what Alienware is doing, it's certainly not filling orders.

I don't believe it's AW's fault on this one. The merging with Dell Financing isn't going well obviously. When I bought my first AW, a M9700 a few years ago, they used a different financing company, and that relationship since has fizzled. So this partnership with Dell Financing is somehow new. Also prior to the AW I bought a Dell many years ago, using Dell Financial. It's a big company

I was phase 3 over 10 days and then passed form phase 4 to 9 in two days, got it in my hands dec 3rd while deadline was dec 2nd so be optimistic and start being mad when deadline will be passed and no M17 on your desk.
