1280x800 is proportional to 1920x1200. when playing games like crysis, where I want to keep the settings very high but boost the FPS by decreasing the resolution, 1280x800 is the only way to go.

    HOWEVER

dell's drivers (and 10.3 and 10.2) all do not have this resolution. The only drivers I've tried that do have this resolution are the 9.12 drivers (and we all know that with these drivers, if you plug in or unplug your power supply, the system will lock up completely, not exactly what I would call ideal).

Does anyone know a way to edit the .inf files of any catalyst drivers to add support for 1280x800? Obviously the screen and graphics cards support this resolution, as the 9.12 drivers have the option.

I am running the ATI 10.3 beta drivers and that resolution is available on mine.

I think the issue has to do with your drivers. It seems you weren't able to properly install the 10.3 drivers, because mine also has that resolution.

I found out that the only version of 10.3 that truly installs properly is from techpowerups website.

if anyone actually gets the official 10.3 release that's on amd's website to install without having any drivers previously installed (save those automatically installed by windows) I'd be impressed.
