    Quad Core QX9300
    4GB DDR3
    Raid 1 Setup (security purpose)
    2x ATI 4850 CrossfireX 1GB

Is this kind of score normal ?

3DMark06 fails as a benchmark. But yeah, I think that score is about right.

Reason 3DMark06 fails? Now it's dependant almost entirely on the CPU speed.

    Try Vantage instead.

Sounds about right...(I think it's a driver problem)... I never could get 06 to play nice but I also didn't really try that hard. Like everyone else said...it's very cpu limited. In Vantage you should be getting in the mid 9's average(stock).

Yea if the cards are from Alienware then pretty sure they're 1gb in memory.I got mine from Alienware too. I got around 10.2k on 3dmark06 for single 4850 with a bit of overclocking though.

wow, so mandrake is getting way better scores with gtx280's then the ati's.....may have to consider returning and going with the 280's. Are all those scores tested evenly? Or was there overclocking etc....

It's a benchmark. Try out some games and then you'll see the true power of mobility 4870s.

It is bench'n alright. Head over to the Official Benchmark and rep ATIs, as I have done so. We need more ATI crossFireX numbers to be on the list. Thanks guys. :)

What kind of temps are you guys getting when these things are overclocked, I'm pushing a good 101c the highest ive seen, during the GPUtool stability test, its stable, but ungodly hot!!
