Posted this on notebookforum but aint gettin ne love from 15x owners over there, hopefully Ill get more love here hehe
I had the smartbay batt on my gen1 14" sentia(one of if not the first AW to offer a smartbay batt), in retrospect I really wish I had gotten 2!!!!
The reason I didnt is cuz AW has no dock station or external battery charger, and I didnt want to have to keep swappin battery just to charge(ontop of changing when it got low)
What Im really curious about though is discharge priority and hot swapping!!!
The sentia did something stupid and discharged from the primary batt first, so even if I had two 2ndary batt's, it would have required a shutdown to swap when the primary was done then the 2ndary was low. Nor would it boot w/o the primary installed even if the 2ndary was full and installed. I really hope they addressed this issue.
Next was hot swapping, I could hotswap the battery in, but it would crash if I tried to hotswap a drive into the bay. Being as these are prolly on a SATA bus now, Im hoping this issue is addressed as well.
Ne 15x owners w/ 2ndary batt care to comment on discharge priority, optical and hdd drive smart bay hot swapping, and lastly is the hdd busses SATA1(150) or SATA2(300)?????
Thx for the help!!!

SB battery discharges first
SB and optical are hot swappable with no problems as long as when you take out the optical that you do a safely remove hardware in windows.
The SB HDD not sure since I don't own one that a good question though. -
Thx man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I imagine the hdd will work same as optical, especially after saying about using disconnect systray icon which is a hallmark of the sata interconnected devices.
Now to find out bout sata1 or sata2, I can prolly track that down on intels site if I knew the exact chipset/northbridge/southbridge in the 15x.
Thx again Man. I'll be reposting your answer in other board giving u full credit!!! -
No problem if you ever have any other questions feel free to ask we are all here to help. I'm sure by tomorrow someone will have an answer for your SATA question everyone must be asleep since tomorrow is monday.

AW website says GM965 for 15x
Intel list GM965 as a mainstream chipset while intel lists the PM965 as a performance chipset...???wtf maybe gm cuz of binary grfx???
Either way, comparing the diagrams of both these chipsets(both top in their respective family for intels current lineup) against the same data/diagrams for old and new desktop chipsets it clearly shows SATA2 when supported and none of intels mobile chipsets show this, so SATA1 it is. no deal breaker for sure, pics not even uber definitive, but Ill take intels word as is. -
