The 178.13 drivers are now available from laptopvideo2go. Anyone try them yet? Specifically people with similar specs (8800M GTX). I'll try them out when I wake up.

Ok ran 3dmark 06 and HDR/SM3.0 was the same as the 177.98, but the SM2.0 went up 62 points. Overall the score went up 65points.

Not a significant improvement in performance. But 4 down clock stops compared to the 177.98's 3

i wonder why it's got more clock stops... you'd think three would do just fine.

how's the performance in games? any notable difference?

I do happen to have some smoother gameplay or it might just be attributed to the placebo effect. However, other people are reporting same 3dmark 06 score but better gameplay.

I don't really notice gameplay improvement 'cause all I'm playing right now is DOTA and The Witcher, which my specs already max out at 1920x1200.

    I found 177.98 giving better results in 3dmark 06

I have it running on 1440x900 native resolution with 8700M GT

    Arvie... Welcome to NBR!
I would say if you have your driver working fine and you are not facing any problems then stick to your old version for now. I do not see anyone reporting major improvements with this driver. as they say it... why fix it if it's ain't broken!

Should you choose to try it, and no harm really as you can just uninstall and reinstall, you download both. Extract the driver files somewhere then drag the modified .inf into the folder you extracted it to and overwrite it. Then you should be able to run setup without encountering compatibility errors.

I installed it for my 8700M GT... fixed some "Digital Vibrance" issues I was having.

    I'm a pretty happy camper.
