Just downloaded 180.48 drivers and noticed a 10C drop in temps when i ran 3Dmark Vantage test. Have not tried any games yet.
-
directly from Nvidia? or from ltv2go? also, has your score dropped significantly?
-
I don't think they are WHQL Cert. so I'm guessing LV2G
-
LV2G but WHQl certified. Only says 32 bit Vista on the website.
-
Bloody shame that AW won't bring out a good driver for us blu-rayer's. its a pain in the arsenic trying to find a driver that'll work
anyways mr tanamera here is the 64 bit link to said driver
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=21839 -
just curious why you gave him the 64bit link when his sig states he has 32bit....??
-
Yeah, I'm going to see how this compares to Dox's 180.44. Pretty excited about the potential performance boosts though.
-
ditto ennea (even though i can not DL it right now)
but if i remember from reading in the ltv2go site, Doc modifies them to exclude the uneeded and useless stuff for use by laptops...so i think is he DL'd the nVidia version and Doc makes an edited one, i would dare say his would be more efficient and usefull. -
-
Did not notice a real performance gain over the 180.44 drivers when i played FarCry2 and Crysis Warhead. But GPU temps were lower.
-
It did seem to help a little in real world games, but not in 3d mark. My temp are about the same.

oh, wow. might upgrade myself. not too impressed by 180.43 (Dox'), Crysis performance seems down.
-
switching from Dox' 180.43 to WHQL 180.48 now. will report back with my findings.
-
eww. 3dmark06 score dropped from 9825 to 9190!! not looking good. i'm off to test gaming performance.
-
mixed results in Crysis. on the plus side, i would say my fps is up by about 2-3fps. on the downside, my GPU hit an all-time high of 92°C

so are these the best drivers to get?
and what is DOX? -
Dox is the name of one of forum members who is one modding the driver and optimizing it for us mobile users. He's doing a lot of hard work.

good deal, tell him thanx.

Whizzo,
Try the 180.70 drivers. -
the 180.70s (like all the other 180s) run Need For Speed: Most Wanted really badly. Fraps says I'm running a constant 60FPS but the image stutters all the time. The only set of drivers that were playable with NFSMW, were the 170.13s. They still stuttered but it was good enough to play and enjoy.
Is it just because it's an old game? Should I hold out for a set of drivers that can run current games well and also run older games ok or should I accept that that won't happen and get the most recent Need For Speed episode?
