I have the BIOS and the Nbitor

now when i flash i should be in Hybrid SLI so if it doesn't work I will still have the 9400m correct?

I am just worried i wont be able to boot in to the 9400m

I am not the person to ask about this haha, I avoid flashing vbios. I know that Dondadah88 has flashed his 9800m GTX BIOS many a time, should be same procedure so I'd ask him.

I am interested to see how this works and really hope that it doesn't kill your card. Thanks for being the guinea pig.

Its not going to kill his card, and if there is a problem it is reversible, as long as he can boot up with his 9400M it should be easy.

What is the "Extra" category? If it's full power shouldn't it be the same thing as 3D?

Lol. what would you like them to by called.

nope there different settings. that's why rivatuner, and other overclocking software isn't as stable as nvidia system tools because they automatically go to 3d instead of extra.

Stupid dondadah88. The method I showed you is only for flashing single GPU notebooks. SLi notebooks need a different command in nvFlash.

First, use the command nvflash -a to see the list of cards that nvFlash can see. Them proceed with the two following commands.

    "nvflash -4 -5 -6 -A -y -i0 G92M.rom"

    "nvflash -4 -5 -6 -A -y -i1 G92M.rom"

The -ix selects which card to flash.

You're not the one I'm talking about. Prodigy-man has an M17x coming soon and he is gearing up to flash for his first time. I'm trying to prevent any mess ups for SLi users reading this thread, and potentialy you and The_Moo™ in the future as you only knew how to flash single cards before I posted. I'm just trying to save your hide from SLi users complaining that they can only flash one of their cards.

I swear to god, the IQ of the Alienware forum has been going down the drain lately.

I try this with my 280 and nibitor comes up with an unknown bios and some real goofy clock speeds. My core speed was in Terahertz, I really wish it was but something wrong. If you get it to work moo post up a DIY or something to that extent.

Change the ID for your GTX 280M to a 9800M GTX and select rescan BIOS in the Adv. Info tab. NiBiTor will be able to read your card properly after that. Make sure you change it back to the GTX 280M ID before you save the BIOS.

Yes, forgive me. My sincere apologies. I still need to learn how to my head cool.

Yep that's what he is doing, we want to see if the extra 16 stream processors can be unlocked by bios flashing the 260M to a 280M, or if they have been laser cut by Nvidia.

    BIOS didn't match
    PCI subsystems didn't match
    Subsystem ID's don't match

It started to flash but i guess the values in the subsystem didn't match (figured)

Any way any one let me what i need to do now ?

You can bypass the checking part by using -5 -6
    eg nvflash.exe -5 -6 Bios1.rom
These errors shouldn't worry you too much, I used to get the same ones on my m1730 and I still get the same errors on the 280m on the m17x (using original bios)

They do i checked it in Nbitor but nvflash won't flash with it like that :(

unless it's trying to flash your 9400m. disable that. then since you have a single gpu
    nvflash -6 -5 -4 -Y -a ????.rom if not then
    nvflash -6 -5 -4 -A -y ????.rom

Okay, TL;DR. I spent the day wiping my hard drive and loading a fresh copy of Seven build 7264, so forgive me for my absence. Have you all saved the device ID in the BIOS correctly as 060A? I think I have mentioned it in my post back on page three.
