    Hi guys,

I have my qx9300 oc'd to 2.93(any more and it crashed). I'm getting scores like 14820 in 3dmark, cpu score 4059.

I haven't turned anything off and mcafee is running inthe background.

Is this about what i should expect from this laptop?

It plays the games i play just fine at full settings so its not crucial that i get more performance out of it at the moment.

Also a dell tech told me that i shouldnt disable the 9400 because it contributes to graphic processing when its on even with sli enabled. True?

I find it interesting that this new laptop is unable to increase the memory or fsb speed at all. I tried a modest increase to 1100 on both. It bluescreened shortly after loading windows. I went back into bios and linked and then unlinked and it showed 1099. I i went with that. did same thing.

It appears that this motherboard cant do any oc'ing other than a bin +2 on the qx9300. So 2.93 is all this unit can do. Bummer, i was hoping to get at least 3.06.

if you have warranty and you purchase the laptop with the qx9300 you should call dell and let them run diagnostics to see if you need a new motherboard or memory :)

Doubt Dell would do anything about it.

Try overclocking a little higher with a mem:cpu ratio of 1:2 So unlink them, set the multiplier to 10 and go mem 1280, FSB 1280. Maybe you just need to OC a little higher. If that doesn't work try 1200.

Edit: Also check out the benchmarking thread. There is a lot of helpful information there. Where I did a lot of my learning, by a lot of questions and reading. It's rather lengthy.
