Ok, I will make this short and sweet. I had run 3dmark06 without Vantage installed with the 186.82 drivers fine. Installed Vantage and now neither will work. (I don't remember if I changed any other drivers before I installed Vantage).

The error I am getting is "System Info scan failed. Can't run benchmark."

The futuremark website says it has something to do with UAC. I have turned it on and off and still get the same results. I dont even get a popup to allow the systemscan. I have uninstalled both, cleaned the registry keys, reinstalled video drivers etc...and nothing has worked. I am using Windows 7 RTM(I am a IT Admin). I have searched the internet and still can't find a resolution to the problem.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Yes and Yes. Even after uninstalling, restarting and going through the registry and deleting any key referring to 3dmark, futuremark and vanatage.

Everything else on the machine works great. The only game I play is WoW, and that runs great. But I also have the SF4 and DMC4 benchmarks and they run great as well.

I am not sure what your asking. The Windows 7 install was a clean install. The Vantage install was clean in terms of the first time installing it.

If your asking if I formatted the machine again, then did another install of vantage, then no. It isn't really worth my time to format just to run benchmarks since everything else on the machine is working fine.

I know it is something simple that will fix this, but I don't know what it is.

No security software. I have OCCT, CPU-Z and the temperature one(forgot the name) installed besides the games/benchmarks I mentioned above. I have the machine overclocked Q9000 to 2.4 and have done the OCCT benchmarks without a problem at that speed. I have also set the proc back to stock and it still gives me the same error.

I don't have the machine in front of me but I am sure if I played around with it for a while I could figure it out. I think it might have something to do with my combination of drivers and bios settings(9400m turned off). I was just looking for a quick easy fix.

Right now it's more about me not being able to fix it then actually caring about running the program, lol.

I had an unresolvable COM Surrogate error that required a fresh install of Vista.

The disabling of the 9400m should not be the problem, have you changed any security settings when you installed Win 7?

Also, have you thought of running driver sweeper and installing a fresh batch of drivers?
