    Yes I tired multiple times.

I think both my cards are. Video was screwed up using just the Master card. The more I tested the worse it became.

Try reinstalling Windows with no Crossfire cable connected. If it doesn't break then it was just a coincident. ;)

When you ran just the master card did you run Vantage to see if it was OK? I booted fine with just the master card but didn't have issues until I put stress on it. If it runs through Vantage ok I would guess it is fine.

So this caused the problem, not OC/over-volting?

Hi guys,I have this problem before ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=437795). What I did : I install slave card in master slot and reflash it. After that I got both master cards and posibillity use modded drivers, but after fresh OS install in GPU-Z it was still a same madness. So problem solved now because I send lappy for repair and they change both GPU cards and motherboard

Well I hope I don't have a MB issue. I played Borderlands for a couple hours with my 3870s and I didn't have any issues. My replacement 4850s will be here later in the week.

Are you going to keep using the 4850s or go back to the 3870s and sell the 4850s Mandrake? I am itching to try putting the 4850s into a D901c and see if I can get CF working! (but too worried it may not and I spend all my money :( )

I'm not sure yet. It might actually make sense to sell the 4850s if I'm not going to benchmark with them. I've been gaming with the 3870s and I've had no issue. The reason for keeping the 4850s is it will make it easier to sell the system as a whole.

On a side note when I called to get my 4850s swapped I bought an additional master 4850. Still don't know why they are so hard to get.

Sorry, but what exactly caused this problem? How did the cards went "bad"? I have an alienware 4850 and thought of changing the volts in the bios.

Don't have proof how it was caused. This didn't happen while benchmarking. It happened while I was reinstaling the OS.

I'm fairly new to modding ati bios. Is there anything messed up with this particular bios? All I did was change the volts from 1.05 to 1.07. (obviously it's for the alienware 4850)
