I have come across a weird temp monitoring issue with these cards. If I try and open either GPU-Z or Everest the comp just completely locks up. HWmonitor does not show the temps and neither does rivatuner or speedfan. Very weird. Any ideas

Hmm...maybe the cards don't have temperature sensors in them? Or perhaps it's a motherboard connection issue meaning they can't read the card's temp sensors. Or perhaps the software needs to be updated to read the 4850's temps? (Just an idea)

Think max had the same problem when he received the notebook but after updating the drivers it worked properly.

They did work when i first got them. Currently using 9.7 so drivers up to date. Odd that Gpuz and everest lock the computer though.

Probably something conflicts when trying to read the temp. If it used to work its probably has something to do with the drivers.

Most definately cool. Just unistalled the drivers and now there is no problem. Gonna try 9.6 and see what happens.

9.6's should do for now if they work ok. Although the boost in crysis (for benchmarking purposes is nice) but working temps > +8% boost in crysis :p

ATI Tray tools is the only way I've found to measure temps in my GT725

So did you get a final fix Marshall? with 9.7's?

Weird than an uninstall fixed it for you; I haven't been able to monitor temps with any drivers, stock, 9.4 dna or 9.7

The only way to get gpuz to open and not freeze along with everest is to disablecrossfire. Does the exact same with 9.6 and 9.5. How weird. Also noticed power play is not downclocking the cards.
