    any ideas why?

As far as I know, ATi's Crossfire doesn't work in windowed mode at all. It only kicks in when using a proper full screen mode. It's a shame, really, but it's the way the drivers are written. Until ATi updates their drivers to also work in windowed mode, it looks like it'll stay that way.
That's why it doesn't work with the "fake full screen mode" in LOTRO, as it uses a maximized, borderless window to "fake" a full screen. Just use proper full screen in games until then and you'll be fine.
By the way, I read some rumours that Crossfire works in DX10 windowed mode, but I haven't seen any confirmation and since LOTRO is a DX10 title, it doesn't appear to be that way.

Nvidia's SLI used to be the same until recently, but it's been working in windowed mode with the more recent driver releases (although there are still some minor issues with it).

Ya lotro runs great in SLI or Crossfire. I tend to get around 140fps in lotro. What slows me down is the hard drives.

I know a tad off topic... But I just downloaded HWiNFO32 after reading your post, because I wanted to see my GPU utilization, but when I load up the sensor status like you did, the only thing it shows under GPU is a single temperature reading.
I'm not getting the Shader, Thermal diode, memIO, dispIO, and most importantly for me the GPU Utilization, all of wich are in your screen shot. I know I dont have the ATIs but is it possible for me to see this information somehow?
    Thanks!

i honestly dont know why. Last night was the first time i used the program when i found the standard hwmonitor didnt "see" the ATI's at all.

Funny thing was that LOTRO ran at all settings on ultra high 1900x 1200 apparently with just the one GPU running.

when i did the adjustment to the fakefullscreen setting and put the system in full screen i saw no real improvment in gameplay. It was still great. I did a quick minimize and saw both gpus at about 40%. Temps were tad over 60 for gpu 0 and mid to lo 50's for gpu2.

I also saw the issue ive seen talked about here regarding the speed of the gpu's being like 500/800 on one card and 200/300 on the other.

I thought this was a problem but then i saw the CF change after i did the settings change in the pervious post.

So i'm not sure if im missing something here. Im usually an Nvidia guy so this is my first ATI CF experience. Not exactly smooth but i'm happy with the performance.
