Wondering if its a good idea to buy the 4year warrenty for the m15x. i dont want to waste the money if the m15x wont beable to handle many games within the 3rd-4th year from now.. and also if i had it on the 4th year from now and it happens to just fry, would they replace the computer with another same year model m15x or a better one?

wow, do you have a thread for every component of your system, hahah.
yes if it fails, then you will get a replacement system and if they are out of parts then you will get a newer spec system.

its cool i was just kidding anyways, but i have the 4 yr complete care also. well worth it, also get it at the same time you are buying, normally they can gave big discounts on warranty if you buy it at that time.

There are a lot of people in this forum who have M17x's because they bought Dell's Warranty on their old XPS laptops. The price is also pretty good, most other places will charge a lot more for less.

yea but i doubt ill be lucky enough for my m15x to ever break before the warrenty is over, not that i want it to break, but if in the 3rd or 4th year i wouldnt mind a nice replacement.. it realy sucks that pc's are replaced with better pc's within short amount of time. Just seems like a big waste of money to keep paying over $2000 for a pc every 3 years :[ specialy im buying alienware for gaming only, so im sure ill be replacing it within the next 4years

I've been wondering that- are these warranties transferable if you sell the unit? Also, anyone know the *real* difference between Advanced and Premium other than what Dell claims the phone wait time is?

The only reason I went with the 3 years advance warranty is just in case something happens like a fall, a spill as it seems to happen more often than not especially with young kids around the house.

At least I know that for the next three years no matter what happens I will have a decent laptop and worst case a new one. It's worth the extra money to me.

As far as the 4 years, it's not worth the money to me as the PC will be completely outdated and I know I will have purchased a new one by then.

They are not selling the warranty for you to take advantage of it and scam AW or Dell.

That will only increase the prices of such warranties and therefore bother all the people like us that pay for them.

yes by the 4th year it will be out dated ..but thats what i was wondering if something goes wrong with it by then, then im sure you will have a whole new replacement with a new model.. as i seen a guy on this forum lost his xps because of it being fried or w/e reason and they replaced it with an m17x this years model.. id say his warrenty was much worth it.

Again those are extreme cases and sometimes questionable practice... Buying the warranty expecting to get a replacement in the future is just fraud.

I´m sending my system back at like Friday (was supposed to get it today but they said that the "Recipient moved" but it´s pretty hard to move a military base, lol). Sending it back because I want the advanced warranty, the 740qm and the stupid dell rep didn´t give me the 3% DPA discount so he´s not getting a commision :D! Pissed me off lol.

Plus that I always manage to spill stuff on laptops, last time was a couple of weeks ago on this, had to hurry to school and spilled my protein shake on it so they had to fix it..

I didnt say im going to try breaking my computer, and i didnt say im expecting a replacement.. read before you just start typing. Im saying what i saw happen. Noone will acualy try doing something stupid like that. But things do happen and that will be another good reason to have the extended warrenty.
