I was talking in the live chat with one of the reps from Dell and He said they don't offer any student discounts.

When I ordered my m15x through Alienware I got the discount, so is it possible to order the m17x through alienware and not dell, to take advantage of the 5% discount?

Or will I just be redirected to Dell when I call about the M17x?

    thanks

I walked up to a Kiosk, and said help me out pl0x bro (seriously), and being a fellow internet savvy chap, he gave a 10% discount. It was classed as a 'Kiosk Discount C' according to my receipt. I'd suggest trying that and maybe getting a student discount ontop.

You guys need to keep in mind Dell Canada and in some other countries aren't offering student discounts, only discount I was told I can get from Dell.ca is EPP, and I've been over this many times with many different reps.

I got 7% University, + 4% DPA, + 2% + free shipping. All these just from Dell alone (They made a mistake with another dell Inspiron that I ordered for my sister).

To top it off, I got some bonuses from wrk, and sold my M17.

    Awesome deal. True story.

My advice? Give them a call and order by phone. They are surprisingly lenient.

EPP starts at 7% and can go as high as 12% depending on your order and the deal the company has with Dell, and to qualify you need to be employed by a company that has an employee purchase deal with Dell.

BTW where in Canada are you located?

    Toronto.

I'm self employed and I have my own company, is there anyway I can take advantage of the epp discount?

    thanks

I suppose you could, I'm not sure how it works, but call them and ask them about it, explain your situation and they will explain to you how it works, and how to go about setting up an EPP with them.
