Hello, this is probably a stupid question, but can you install 64bit Vista on a m15x/m17x? I'm not really sure how the bit system works in terms of notebooks (if you buy a software version or if it is a upgrade provided by Alienware). I just know I need 64bits to take full advantage of 4gb of ram.

    1. You can install whatever you want on it (Windows, Linux, BSD, MacOS if you know how).
    2. You install Vista x64 with the same key you have on Vista x86. When you boot with the x64 DVD you just insert that key you already have. A Vista disc can be downloaded from torrent or bought for 5$ (if they are still selling that thing).
    3. There is a thread or more than one in this forum made by Alienware enthusiasts regarding x64. Check that out.
