Any reason to get it? as in, is it a better battery than what is in the M17X already or is it just a spare?

I don't know for sure as i have a M15x but i'm guessing the same thing goes for all gaming laptops that a spare or high cell battery is not needed as you will be plugged into the mains to be gaming anyway, unless you need it for long distances i wouldn't recommend it.
Just in case you didn't know already ofc.

I have an 85Wh in my M17x and i didn't order it, I'd say its safe to assume it's only a spare (Thats the impression it gave when i ordered as it wasn't listed as an upgrade, just an accessory).

You generally require 9 Cell batteries for high end laptops anyway becasue with anything other then that (6 Cell for example) when it starts to wear the voltage drop causes the laptop to either shut off or crash.
