Before I decide to call my notebook maker in requesting a part replacement. Might anyone know of a dealer or online store selling 8800m gtx (for notebooks/laptops!)?

Usual area where in most cases an Nvidia card fails after overheating?

The mobility 8000 series was legendary for using very poor quality materials, in particular a solder that would melt when it got hot, so it's in all possibility that that's a cause of overheating.

I'm not sure about the desktop 8800 in that matter, even though I have one, although that probably has something to do with the fact I put what's one of the best desktop GPU coolers (fan-based, not water cooling) and now it runs cooler than the bloody CPU in my desktop. (Idles @ 45C, goes to 55-58C on load)

Could this may end up being a repeated issue, given that I reinstall the same model type of graphic card? Would I be best off upgrading it to a (a compatible)9000m series? Poor quality materials seems to be precise, given that I had 3 programs to observe the GPU temperatures & they all average in the high 50c, randomly on rare occasions it would come up to 62c (while online gaming), never higher than that though. However, my m15x (notebook) did come with a Home Premium Vista 32-bit and I did a clean install into Ultimate Vista 64-bit. Although, I did do the upgrading 2 months before I begun seeing artifacts, my m15x ran top notch. All drivers where downloaded from My Hive being Vista 64 bit OS. As of now, I am running my Windows under integrated graphics.

A GPU running cooler than a CPU is outstanding!

Thanks for the link, though now I am also looking to see if perhaps I should upgrade to a 9000m series? Here’s a link of my same notebook model where they switch the 8800M GTX to a GTX280, after a diagnose they don’t really recommend it. Wondering if a 9000m series has better quality parts than the 8000m series?
