What do you guys think. I just got my quote from tech support at $519.31.

I have an 8700m gt right now. I don't mind it, but I know in half a year or so I'll want the bigger card. Think I should wait to see if the price goes down or if they start supporting the 9000 series Nvidia chips? Or should I just bite the bullet and grab it now?

well, what is the price? otherwise, id try to get a 9800m gtx or 9800m gt. if not, maybe waiting till the series that will come out after the 9 series. i think it would be like the 200 series or something.

I think my worry is I wait half a year, and then my crap becomes unsupported or some such.

I doubt the price will go down . . . proprietary notebook parts don't fluctuate in price. I'd upgrade if you have the money. The 8800M-GTX is an absolute monster, easily twice as powerful as your 8700M-GT.

The 9-series Nvidia chips are nothing new. 9800M-GT = 8800M-GTX, there is no difference.

If you can afford it, and need it, go for it. That's really what it comes down to.

I'm not sure anyone ever really needs a graphics card, but yea I think I'm just gonna do it. If what Chaz says is true, theres no real point in putting it off unless I was waitin on money.

    Thanks for the feedback.
