i just updated my drivers to the 180.48 ones from laptopvideo2go.com and now my dual 8800m gtxs are only running at GPU core 275 mhz and GPU memory 300 mhz! this is on my m17x did i do something wrong because now there always running like this its not even doing it only when they heat up!

EDIT: in the system information tab in the NVIDIA control panel it says there still running at 500 mhz and 799 mhz but when i open the NVMonitor it says there only running at 275mhz and 300 mhz and with how much cooler there running barely hitting 66 when playing i game i think they must be underclocking to that

ok strange restarting the computer seemed to fix it and now its running at the right speeds. is it normal for it to do that though and you have to restart the computer to fix it or did i mess up the drivers somehow?

this is completely normal, nothing to worry about. the new driver downclocks the GPU when it's under light load to save power and reduce strain on the chip. as soon as you fire up a game, the clocks will back to the "normal" levels (800/1250/500, something like that), and you'll be able to unleash the full power of the GPU.
