    Good day

I often try to catch up with the latest news in this great forum to be up-to-date with my m17x etc.

I didn't think that I would have a problem and post about it, but yesterday after 3hrs of playing Dragon Age I noticed something strange.

I had SLI enabled (2x280M) and the weird thing was, that the 9400 card (62°) was hotter than a 280M (57°). The second 280M GPU chilled at 39°. Checked with HW Monitor and Uploaded a picture.

My question is simple: Is this normal :D?

I didn't find anything in the Search Option.

    Greetings from switzerland

disable the 9400 on your bios no one here uses hybrid just decreases performance because the gtx280's are running at lower clock times but if you don't want to turn it off replace the thermal pad on the northbridge for ic diamond 7 carat thermal compound i did that and the temperature is like 8c lower than before ;)

Besides the 9400M/MCP79 being hot, which is normal, it looks like your second dedicated card isn't being used by your game. Read the SLI Guide to get SLI to work properly with your game.

Yeah. I've probably played only with one card, but I didn't notice any difference in performance in that game :)

Thanks for alle the advice, gonna read the SLI Instructions now.

e: Ah, I thought it would be enough to download the sli update, drivers etc. and just simply "activating" SLI with the button shortcut on the keyboard.

I received my M17x on Tuesday and I've been pretty much living here in these forums since then because of the many initial problems I had. I am doomed to never have the plug and play experience :D

The latest problem I was working on was my second card not being utilized when playing a certain game. It was causing the fans to go nuts and I know laptops have heat issues, but I really hate excessive fan noise. I came here, found a post for exactly the same problem (only one GPU being used), followed the instructions for nhancer, and OMG it worked!!! Both GPUs are being used and the fan noise did in fact diminish to a more normal level.

Anyway, this forum has helped me out tremendously and I want to thank you all (especially Batboy, as I also utilized your blog extensively). I tend to get intimidated by all this tech stuff because I'm much older than your average gamer, i.e. I didn't grow up with this stuff, but you all are so friendly and give such great solutions... again, thank you!!! :)
