    Hi everyone,
I'm just a tad curious about what the safe temps are for the gpu of an 8700. As all of you know, I had to remove the slave card from the laptop do to some issues (both cards are going to be replaced). The main games I'm working with now are UT3 and Crysis. UT3 tends to bring the single gpu up the 80s, and Crysis brings it all the way to 97 degrees. I'm a tad concerned, but seeing as how the card will be getting replaced anyway, is there a real risk?

    Thanks,
    Gabe

    Hi Gabez,

I read your other post and I was concerned when i first saw your temp screen shots and how hot your cards were at idle.
Unfortunately I have SLI 7950s so i cant directly compare, but they idle at 65 and start down clocking at 80. So I have to say your cards are burning up!

If AW wasnt already sending you new cards I'D say to Artic Silver those things right now. Maybe though your cards can last until the replacements arrive. And be sure to check out the guide in this forum too :)

I really wish you all the best of luck!
