I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but when starting Crysis up, until I load the save file and start playing, the back left area of my computer makes a strange noise. Like screetching or something. It's not to loud and seems to stop after I begin the level. It also stops each time their ad things go off while starting the game up. It also makes that noise during age of empires 3, seemed like it did the entire game, even when playing. Is it the LCD screen? or Graphics card? hard drive? or just normal?
Also, when you start up not plugged in, shouldn't the computer automaticly switch to power saver? I have to switch myself. plus one night it slowed down a lot, but the next morning was fine. is is all normal? I can go into detail about the slowness and how it happened if you need me to.

    Thanks

The screeching noise is actually normal and it's more than likely coming from your GPU. On some systems it's worse than others.

no need to disable, i haven't noticed a time where having hybrid sli active caused any issues other than trying to instal certain older drivers (older than 186.03)

hey, i noticed a new problem, i might make anotehr thread if noone can help me under this one. 2 times today, i started my m17x up, and the touch keys did not light up or work, neither did the camera for loging me in. this last time it happened, i shut my computer down, turned it back on (which fixed it the first time) and the screen resoultion changed, but the keys did start working. i did go into bios before starting all the way up to look around, maybe that changed the screen, but why are the touch buttons not comming on? i turn ooff and unplug my computer each time, then plug back in to turn it back on. (cord in the way or walking atm) could that have something to do with it?

sounds like you are having driver issues. we have all faced some minimal driver issued with this/and all computers. I would respawn and see if that fixes it... once you get everything exactly how you want it, back upp the partition. I have found that norton ghost or acronis true image work flawlessly.

I had the same issue the other night. Called tech support and ended up taking apart the laptop unconnecting and reconnnecting the cables for the cam and touch pad. Everything is working fine now and I hope this does not become a something I have to do frequently.

really? did it work at all before then? because up until today, i havnt had that problem. then once in the morning and once in the afternoon it happened, a quick shutdown then power on again solved it, i thought maybe i turned it on wrong (yeah... not sure how that is possible)

I was using the webcam around 2am, went to bed and when I woke it and the touch control lights no longer worked. When I called the tech we checked drivers, did a sys restore nada. I was terrified to take it apart but was lucky in that I had watched The Moo's vids earlier that day and knew what to expect.
