Could be a few things. Trying booting of the resource DVD, go into the diagnostics program and do a scan on your hard drives.

I stopped the freezing with disabling SuperFetch on Windows.

Yep, could also be a memory issue or even the chipset driver/nForce.
Try from simply using 1mem stick/swapping with a new one, to reinstalling the chipset drivers.

    MemTEST86 to check your ram

sounds as if your raid is giving issues and thats whats making it freeze the others are system errors

Do you have a raid enabled ?
If not try removing the Nvidia nForce Controller (in Device manager under IDE ATA/Atapi controllers)

I do not think I have raid enable. Why should I uninstall the Nvidia Nforce controller?

If I'm not mistaken it's your raid controller's driver. Since you don't have a raid enabled try removing the driver and see if it helps.

Sorry to resurrect. I've removed my NVIDIA raid and sata drivers and the reset goes away, but my drive i/o performance tanks. I'm not using raid, but I am using AHCI. Does anyone know if this problem will go away if I reformat my system again and use ATA mode for SATA instead of AHCI? I hate to lose by hot-swap capability, but this freezing for 10 minutes at a time is driving me insaine.

Anyone at all have any ideas. I tried downloading the forceware drivers with no luck. I've re-imaged my workstation twice. Tried using those MCP drivers but I can't find anything newer than dell's site. I've tried switching out hard drives with no luck.

I had the same problems. My solution was a temporary one, just don't install the Nvidia Storage drivers (untick when you install chipset)
This way, i never had any nvstor64 related problems again. But then again, i didnt use RAID and it may need those drivers in that case.

Yeah, and my performance goes down a good bit when I did that the last time. I wonder if I should harass Dell about this.
