So after owning this for a few months I have run into all sorts of problems. I have not seen any other threads with these issues......

Firstly a DVD is stuck in my drive and will not eject. I have the latest A02 bios as well.

My right GPU fan is making a terrible noise like it is dieing.

And most alarming I have run my favorite stress test program OCCT for the GPU memory and I get 1280 errors!!!!!

Can you guys please download and run OCCT to check the GPU Memory!

Hey Dante, I have the same cpu and gpu's as you do and ran OCCT and a number of other stressers for hours when I was overclocking and got no errors at all. I think I do remember reading on here somewhere about someone having an issue with the DVD drive not ejecting on the M17x before too.

"My right GPU fan is making a terrible noise like it is dieing."

I had exactly the same thing (after 3 days). I suspect the old A01 BIOS to be the culprit in that it 'overspeeded' the fans (although I'm not sure). I called Dell support and they replaced both fans (took a while to convince them that it was the fan. They actually let me remove the hard disks to make sure lol). Tip: when the fans are replaced, start your favorite program in SLI and check temp rigth away. The tech guy I got had to return because after first replacement, the fan didn't run at all. Good luck.

As for the CD, I assume that you run Windows and that you're able to start it. From Windows Explorer, try right click on the DVD drive letter and select the eject option. If not from Windows, I read somewhere around here that the eject button on the touch strip can be operated when you selected to run diagnostics at boot time.

Thanks for checking the GPU Memory test, it looks like both my GPUs are bad.

@Belien Thanks for checking the DVD issue. I tried to select the eject option from within the windows explorer and it did the same thing as usual which is nothing. It makes the grinding noise like it is going to eject then just catches and spins up the DVD once again.

Yeah, I got no errors either. Dante, I would call Dell and get this thing fixed under warranty!

The only solution I heard for the stuck disc is to open up your unit and remove it that way.

Have you tried a complete Alienrespawn Dante? I know on my desktop machine I used to get 1280 errors here and there and it was usually a corrupted registry file or files and may just be screwing with your gpus. I would try one more full respawn first, then contact Dell if it is still throwing errors.

It is the same under the Stock Vista64 install as well as my current Windows7 install.

Dante i have this same problem with certain cds. The only way i found to remove it both times was to keep pressing eject. And trying to get the cd near the eject slot. Most of the time for me you could then see the edge of the cd and using a pair of tweezers grabbing onto the edge of the disk and wiggling it out wards.

On the first one it got out far enough to use a pair of pliers and while pressing eject gently forcing it out.

On that it scrapped the whole cd but got it out.
I then put the same cd in again and had the exact same problem.

Seems that cd is seems to have problems.

Ironic thing its actually a Dell drivers for an older inspiron 6400 i have.

Havent had this problem again with any kind of new cd. Only come across 1 other cd which got stuck and was able to use tweezers to pull it back out.

Annoying that i have to do all this on my £3560 GBP laptop and can get a cd out on my £500 inspiron with one hand tied behind my back.
