    Hi,

I'd like to know some technical info about this display, if anyone knows:

The RGB tech used in the display of the alienware M17x is:

    -Edge lit or local dimming?
-RGB or RGGB? (if it is local dimming, this means 3 or 4 leds per cluster)

    that may be about it...

Any other info would be appreciated (regarding the different qualities of all the led varieties which apply to the M17x and make it better or worse than other displays).

    Thanks! :)

Edge lit, RGB. You won't ever see a local dimmed rgb consumer level notebook, it would be cost prohibitive.

Yeah maybe i got a little too excited...

I saw ur youtube vid... so I guess the M17x R2 is near perfect now? I'm debating whether to add rgb or buy an external led monitor (wled).

In your opinion (you had a m15x so you have actually seen wled and rgbled) is rgb worth it?

    thanks

RGB LED blows away WLED. Totally worth it.

Having both an M15x and an M17x side by side with the same graphic up it's the difference between night and day with just the desktop alone; video is literally television quality and games look so rich as well. It's worth every penny, and is even making me consider an external RGB monitor as well now even with a 22" NCR monitor.

Just do it, you won't regret it!
