A skin for Alienware laptops

I found this on Amazon, a Skin Would be great to place it with the head as the Alienware head on the top cover

Anyone know where I can get that custom made for an M11x ?

 

Check out Zagg.com they have customizable "skins" for Alienware laptops, the M11x for sure, but I didn't look for any of the others. You can upload your own image and have it custom printed. Also, if you have an iPad, download their free image editing app called PhotoPad. It had a feature to upload right from the app and lists the devices they support

Varnado, I honestly thought about those a while back. Can you give us your honest feedback? Is it easy to apply? Does it cover the screen? Is it easy to remove like that add says? thanks so much! StevenX

edit - does the included screen saver match up to the cover??? That feature looks really neat.

 

yes, definitely easy to install/remove (there is an on-line installation manual). It covers screen's borders, not the entire screen. Also they supply matching wall papers but I did not try them yet.

overall I give it 4.5 out of 5 just because the printed pattern was a bit blurry (low-res). hope this helps

WaR created a very nice skullcap version in photoshop. It looks sick! I would put it on my M17x lid any day in a week.

 

Just got nebula red. I'm not impressed. My R3 will be silver for sure.

 

I was stuck with the smooth first gen case with my m15x.... I tried everything to have them ship me the skullcap version. They wouldn't sell it to me. Even when I had to send the machine back to do the broken plastic casing - it had to be replaced, I asked to upgrade... as in pay MORE money to have it installed since they were already tearing it apart. DENIED.

I miss the cool desktops they would offer... anyone remember the special edition "Star Wars" desktop?? Omg... if someone came up with one for a laptop - I'd end up with skid marks.

So.... no one has found a template yet? Once we do, we need to find someone that will allow us to send in our own photos to have them slapped on the skin... so I could have my laptop look like my fluffy kitty.... haha? joke. But still, could do some cool stuff that way and make my own Star Wars skin.

Someone earlier in the thread was "tired of the black" and another member responded by telling him/her to quit whining.... LOL! Yeah, quit whining - at least we have options compared to first gen m15x's and from what I've read... the new anodized alum casing is MUCH more tough than the old plastic crap case. The newer/current style looks cool no matter what color... though having red is not worth paying more for it, lol!

Again, back to skins.... someone send these people an email yet? The guys that are doing the m11x's might design a template for us m17xers if they know there's people with money interested in it.

 

I am also really expecting some nice skin for my M17X.
Hope someone comes up with it.
Anyway, where are the Chinese???

 

Someone on utube had one or two.... but looks like they did some customization on a generic one to make it work. Still looked good. You just need to be creative.

yep, I guess you can customize, your own design over their website.

 

it also looks like the invisible defenders, actually have one for the new M15x rather than the Area-51 models.

Some look pretty cool!

 

Too bad they don't have one for M17X.

Wow those skins look sweet. I'd buy like 5 alienware m11x laptops just to be able to use one with a different skin everyday in class ^^

 

I would have to get bored of the look of this laptop to get one of those... and that has not happened yet...

 

have you ever try to remove it (just a lil bit) to see if any residue left? Is it easy to remove?

i been looking but cant find anyting does anyone make a skin for the M15x or would i have to just get a uncute skin and cover the lid with it and then cut it down to shape myself ?
