    Hi,

I'm ordering one from the UK in a few days, but I'm curious to see the UK people's problems, that they've had.

Thanks, this is because I've herd the quality in build is far better in the UK

Oh no... not you again!!! :)
So, where did you hear that the build quality is better?

FYI, the chassis are all the same, they are sent to AW HQs across the world and there they are assembled with the HDDs, Mem, GPUs, etc... that people choose. So basically, build quality is the same everywhere in the world.

The thing is, you have decided you want an AW because... you want an AW. So just go ahead, order it, and just engrave in the back of your mind that you will love it.

I ordered mine from the UK site.

I am very satisfied so far with it. But the main complaint I have is with the build quality of the laptop. The plastic feel gives me an impression that it is more of a flimsy toy.

I don't really have an American m15x to compare this with so I can't say if the chassis and build are different/improved

Stuff the magazine mentioned it. They said that the UK version doesn't have all the problems that the USA version (AW clarified this). And It's nothing to do with me wanting an alienware. This could be helpful for other members :)
Also, I think USA has huge amount of orders, so they have to rush through them all, and maybe not do all the quality checks, whereas it's not as well known in the UK so they'd have more time to check them over better!

Well, there are plenty of bad experiences in the UK. And plenty of good experiences...
People in the UK (me included) complained about the exact same problems as people in the USA. Have a chat with MrDJ, or even Darkfly that just had to send his laptop back twice.
You will have bad experiences everywhere. Fact is, reports point out to the fact that UK or USA, everything is the same.

I don't know really... Maybe that's something to add to the list.
    But:
    1- 13 cracked cases
2- There are so many more owners in the USA that actually come to this forum, that I just think it's a reflection of that.

Let's say there's 10 USA owners for 1 UK owner. Then you have your 1 problem amongst the rest.
    That's my view of things...

I know how tempting it might look to get one but looking at everyones problems on the build quality and terrible warranty I would STRONGLY advise to stay away.

Well... the m15x was packed with problems, but most of these seem to have been fixed.
Again, when you consider each individual laptop, there will always be problems related to it. Now, in all fairness, if you compare the m15x with the m17x, it's like day and night. Obviously you will have some owners with problems with their m17x here and there, but there's nothing to compare to the initial disaster that the m15x release was.

In any case, most of the old problems seem to have been tackled and one can only keep faith.
