Can anyone download the 147mb file and post it somewhere (for vista x64)? I'm having a hell of a time getting the 12.1 download to work.
I have downloaded the 1.1mb file that downloads the larger package (with the drivers and install packages) from amd. However, every time I run that small 1.1mb file and it loads the downloader, it only gets to 128megabytes then says the download is finished. Whenever I try to run the file, it has a corrupt error and says look at nsis.sf.net/nsis_error for help, which tells me exactly what I know, namely, the download isn't complete/the file is corrupt.
Does someone have that nifty file with the new amd 12.1 mobility drivers for windows vista 64bit? Would be WONDERFUL if you could help me out.
edit: yep, mobility amd catalyst 12.1 drivers (for laptop cards), not just amd catalyst (for desktops). Also, on a slightly unrelated note, I found a copy to download of the 12.2 preview mobility drivers and installed them. They seem to work ok, but my pc's CPU usage is 60% at idle, without any programs other than vista 64 running, which is VERY ABNORMAL. Once I get the amd mobility catalyst 12.1 drivers from someone on here installed, hopefully this cpu usage will renormalize to 1% or so...otherwise amd's drivers are going down hill![]()
edit 2:
The file I'm looking for you should HAVE if you installed the 12.1 drivers. When you download the general installer from the website and run that program, it downloads the larger full package (usually 12.1-catalyst-vista-64...ccc.exe). It even asks where you want to download that file to. That's the file I'm looking for and it should be about 147mb.

i've heard that the 12.2's are actually working great for many. I just helped a new member here install the drivers and it worked on the first try flawlessly
download here:

Then run the exe and follow the prompts. It shouldn't be harder than that -
Thanks Slick, but I used the 12.2 previews and they actually had my processor (q9000) running at between 40-70% at idle. I have no idea why.
I was able to get the 12.1 drivers downloaded alright for my crossfire'd 3870s and things are smooth once again. Thread closed. -
