Well, looks like ATI went ahead and released the final 8.12 version, as it is publicly available for download here: http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx
Looks like the Vista version doesn't include mobility cards..go figure. So, someone is gonna have to figure out how to mod 'em![]()
Oh, wait.. you can use mobility modder found here: http://www.driverheavendownloads.net
Download includes Folding@Home installer..looks like these have to be modded for scaling.. I'll see if I can handle it. *crosses fingers*![]()
OK, there have been some issues with the 8.12 final and mobility modder, and even if you get it working you still have to deal with a lack of fullscreen resolutions. I've made a modded .inf and install method, or a EZ install that resolves all of this. Please visit this thread for full support - http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=329941

Downloaded, modded with tool and during installation there some thing like that pops up:
Then it dissaperas, semms to finish whole installation ok, but when I restart M17 when log screen shows up it`s small (1/3 LCD) and it`s placed lewt top corner, when I log in, res 1440x900 comes back but everything that was white is gray and little blurry. I tried to reinstall it, same result. I went back to 8.12 beta and problem vanished. What the hell is going on? -
8.12 DID NOT work for me on my desktop either with vista it would only see one of my ati cards (dual 4870x2's) the only ones that really work well are the older hotfix ones on my desktop
-
you must uninstall old driver 1st. after that go to safe mode and run driver sweeper (download from guru3d.com) if you use vista64 you must run as administrator to load program correctly. clean ati driver, do this step 2 or 3 time to make sure it was cleaned. install 8.12 driver that modded by mobility modder utility. Have you modded driver correctly by driverheaven method?
-
did that on my desktop and no go. not with 8.12 they just do not work 8.11 only caused bsod and a loop boot also
-
Scaling issue still there...
-
this pisses me off
whats with NVIDIA and ATI not supporting Their Mobile GPUs?!?!
my buddy has the 9700m in his Toshiba Quasmio and I spend 2 hours surfing google and the net looking for drivers theres nothing out there. -
I am just sticking with the 8.12 beta drivers for now...
-
