So I received my system today. To my surprise while going over it, I came across the AGEIA PhysX software (v07.09.13). Yes. The AGEIA software was installed on the system. Why? This system does not have a dedicated AGEIA PPU.

As we all know, the discrete can handle PhysX processing if NVIDIA PhysX System Software is installed and active in the NVIDIA Control Panel. The only requirement is that a 180.00 or higher driver is installed.

Now will someone please explain Dell/AW's logic in installing the AGEIA driver which was released for the XPS M1730?? LOL. Seriously - WTH?

Anyone else find this when they received their system?

It just hit me, I wonder if it was installed by Vantage or 3DMark06. I've never installed them on a system without current drivers or NV PhysX software. I'm thinking it was 3DMark06. Hmmmm...

Ok - my bad everyone, sorry for jumping the gun. Please disregard. A mod can delete my noob thread... :frown:

@Des - read post #3. It was not something Dell/AW did. It was my fault. Enough said.

Yeah found this out to...after much research (my whole day yesterday), that I had somehow istalled this myself...

So I can uninstall this in the programs and features control panel without any worrying then, right?

P.S> I looked everywhere for this and could not find anything about this (regarding if this came pre installed, glad to here its not needed - i was confusing myself with ageia physx and nvidia physx)

lol....but though, one of my games, Two Worlds, did in fact install Aegia Physix software on my machine....I thought that was interesting since the m17x does not have the Aegia chipset....
