Did AW drop their exchange program? Not like they offered anything for their own systems.

I remember they offered $300 for my 6mo old 9700, Ha!

well - some money is better then none.
the way i look at it:
i can give the unit away
i can try and sell it (ebay/craigslist)
i can turn it in and get some cash towards a new system (better if it does not sell and i dont want to keep it)

i am a minimalist - i get rid of things i no longer need. usually offer items to family and friends before trying to sell. if no one wants it or buys it, then why not try to get a few bucks for it?

Odds are that nobody was using it, not if they were lowballing that badly.
Hell the general ebay price for a M7700 is from $300 to $700 depending on specs, and a thousand or so with a 7900/7950 video card.
    Dead ones go for $200-300!
And that's a laptop that came out in 2004 or 2005.

yeah they low balled big time. Still though it was a nice program to have if anything just needed some tweaking. Either way prices on laptops when reselling sucks
