I just got my m15x (which i love, more info to follow) and after accidently interrupting an alien fx board update, none of my lights work!!! PLZ HELPPP! i tried reinstalling osd and command center and its not working!!!!!
-
shut down the machine. remove all power source (battery and ac cord), keep pressed the power button for 15-20 seconds (allow it to use any power left in the machine). Put power source in battery and ac cord. now power on the machine... does it work ?
-
no, its doesnt,
-
just did a complete alien respawn, gonna try to install command center and OSD. No lights so far tho, plzzzz help!
-
Uninstalling and reinstalling both the OSD drivers and the Alienware Command Center should "reset" the lights. Good luck.
-
No dice, a full alien respawn and fresh install of osd and command center and still no lights...
-
-
1. Shut down
2. Remove battery and power plug
3. Press power button for 15-20 secs
4. Plug in only the power adapter
5. Turn it on
6. Hopefully the lights work nowYou can put the battery back in now.
-
lol, thats what i did the second time, just a bit of a remix of the other approach, i was panicking soooo much
-
Glad to hear you got your problem resolved
Any idea on what the update for Command Center changed? -
To my understanding, the Command Center installs an update to the multimedia board as well, doesn't it? I don't quite remember exactly if it was the multimedia board it updates or if it was something else, but I definitely remember it updated something.
-
It does install "TUSB3410 Boot Device" which is actually used to control AlienFX
-
Hi i have the same problem no light is working ......and my M15X lost the TUSB3410 Driver what can i do ...??? The Driver is not on the ervery CD........Arrrrrrgggggg will my lights back...
Manuel -
This worked many times unless you got corrupt driver stack. Before reinstalling lets try this
1) First attempt
- Boot into Integrated mode and see if you got it back. If not then reinstall OSD and CC while you are in integrated mode.
2) Second attempt
a. Shut down the machine completely
b. Remove all power source, battery and AC power
c. Keep the power button pressed for 15-25 seconds while there is no power source to squeez out any power left
d. Put the AC power back in, do not plug in the battery yet and turn the system on
e. Hopefully you have the lights back, now you can put the battery back. -
After this all i must install the OSD and CC ???
-
Boot into Integrated mode and see if you got it back.
If not then uninstall and install OSD and CC while you are in integrated mode. -
Ahh ok...but no lights running ???? Same troubble TUS3410 Driver lost..
-
what a pain... I would blame it to new BIOS I guess. I never had this issue with previous BIOS. and dunno if there is a way to fix it without reinstalling.
Do you use System Restore and can revert back to previous snapshot ? Just before you do that... take a fresh snapshot to come back to current state.
AW Light FX does not work after update
