    what max GPU is compatible with laptop M17x R3?
    Can I go to GTX 9/10 series without any problem?
    And what power adapter?

    Max. possible nVidia option is GTX 880m, best recommended is 680m, as there are Sound issues with 7xxm and greater --> no Sound, you'd need a USB-Soundcard.

    Not sure if this sound issues ever was solved, but I think not, as this was a compatibility issue with the sound chip.
