Hey everyone.
I was wondering, is it possibe to add a longer warranty onto a computer after you got it already? I have an m15x and I forgot to put the 3yr warranty and I only have the 1yr.
also...
If the computer breaks and its discontinued or something...what does AW do? Do they give you credit? Or give you another model or something?

If the warrintee not up you should be able to call alienware and extend it. I did it with the M5550. It was like a month afterwords.

ok cool cause from what im hearing i might need to extend it lol. what about if its discontinued or something? how do they deal with that?
-
you can extend it within 12 months of your purchase.
-
IF you have problems Alienware will help you. If it major problems they will replace the laptop or give store credit.

I purchased my m5790 with 1 year. They will email you just prior to your warranty expiration with a discounted offer to extend it.

Dont worry...you can extend your warranty anytime within 12 months as Nirvana pointed out. However remember that if you purchase a 2 year warranty now, your one year warranty wont become 1 + 2 years...the effective coverage will be 2 years only..similarly if you purchase a 3 year warranty today, the total coverage will be for 3 years only starting from the day you receive the laptop...
Hope this helps
