One thing that got me at first is that for all controls except the volume you have to touch it for 1 second for it to work, it even says so on the plastic cover that is over the keyboard when you first got it.
Once I realized this I had no unresponsiveness problems with my controls, except when it first starts up, takes about a minute or two before it works, probably while the software starts up. I don't really have to press down at all it works fine.
The volume I find to be really nice as I have to put a very small amount of pressure on it to activate so I can change the volume very quickly by just lightly tapping it.
Maybe I am just lucky, but maybe there are a few other people out there like me who didn't read the instructions. :)

Instructions???? They still send that with electronics?? lol I'm right there with you Jordon. I have a bad habit of overlooking the instructions and then wondering why there's a problem lol.

Yep, and remember that it's thermally activated. Some people have more/less blood flow in their fingertips so that can make a noticeable difference in responsiveness.

wow i actually never noticed that until i decided to look at it again  . i just thought it had a nice design and it was to label the ports for you so i took a quick glance and put it away somewhere. when you first get the laptop its pretty much expected since the first thing you want to do is turn that laptop on and start setting it up. most people are too excited to be looking at a manuel or reading instructions :D

Thermally activated? There is the problem then. Most touch controls (such as the ones on my m9750) are capacitive touch sensors that respond instantaneously to a finger touch-no pressure is needed. And they are extremely reliable.

Well, I'm not positive to be perfectly honest. I just assumed they were thermally activated. I have raynaud's in my hands which causes them to vasoconstrict in cold weather and had a dickens of a time getting my controls to work back in March on my ripley when my fingers turned white one day. I didn't have those problems any other time but who knows. Can anyone else verify?

No problems on my skullcap though.

Personally I've never had any problemes with the wifi and bluetooth buttons but the stealth mode and command center takes at least 30s before they respond and the volume slider I can only get to lower the volume, never increase.

I contacted the Roswell crew today regarding this and the keyboard problem where it's missing out some letters.

Unlike the Alienware support, they told me they are working on getting both of these issued fixed. Well, at least they are doing something about it. The call may have costed me £1-£2 but I was on the verge of seeking some legal advice against this as it's been in twice already and still not repaired.. and others don't have this problem at all. It annoyed the heck out of me today!
