My m15x is (well should be) coming next week.
Planning to use it as my desktop when at home so i need to get some accessories for it. I need a stand, speakers, mouse and keyboard. I was thinking:
Logitech Alto Connect Stand (so just need to plug in one cable).
Creative T20 Speakers / Logitech Z-4
Saitek Eclipse II Keyboard / Logitech G15
And VX Nano Cordless Mouse For Notebooks / VX Revolution.
Any advice on which ones to go for?
Any input or ideas would be appreciated
Cheers

if you're in Europe, I think you're dreamin for have your notebook next week
-
Buying some accessories for it takes my mind off how long its taking.

i use a razer lycosa and i think its a really good keyboard. if i were to pick between the 2 you have there i would pick the logitech g15. i think the lcd makes it alot more worth it if you will bother to look on it. i also like the g15 because there are dedicated macro buttons if you use any of them. the only thing i dont like about the g15 is the size. if you are looking to carry it around u can probably forget about that. if you are looking for something from saitek you should look at their cyborg keyboard. it has all the features of the g15 except the lcd. the cyborg keyboard to me looks better but some people think its ugly.

Keyboard: Personally I just use the HP keyboard that came with my comp.
Mouse: Logitech G7 -
Lethal Lottery Notebook Betrayer
i use the m15x keyboard and the logitech g7 mouse. also i have bose compaion 2 speakers. there not to great though.

i find the way some people use laptops really strange...
-
Not so strange - if you want to game mouse is needed, usb keyboard is more convenient for games too. If you want good sound, add speakers. Some people just want to have a laptop for being a gaming machine at home and portable work device at the office.
-
Gaming mouse and keyboard is a must i think
and if you are using it as a desktop, i think its good to consider surround speakers and a reliable cooler would be nice
just my opinnion logitech G7 mouse is really good mouse -
if you would like a wireless mouse for your notebook you should use the logitech g7. i actually perfer a wired mouse since i hate it when my mouse runs out of batteries and then i have to recharge it. i use a logitech g9. i think thats one of the best gaming mouses on the market right now.
-
if you're gaming at the time, you might have to sacrifice a round of CS:S to changing your battery, but other than that, the G7 is a winner.
I like wires because I STILL don't trust wireless mice. too many times has a wirless mouse missed a click or anything minor like that... good for presentations or general usage, but i wouldn't trust it for hardcore games. -
heres wat im getting with my m15x...
mouse: logitech g7
no keyboard...
notebook cooler: zalman nc1000
instead of speakers, mainly for portabilty im getting some REALLY high end headphones along with a portable headphone amp...
headphones: AKG K 601's
headphone amp: HeadRoom Total BitHead (is needed for headphone maxiumum output... will also serve as my external usb sound card, so i have no need for the creative sound blaster card... i hope this headphone amp will actually be better then the creative card...) im just going for the best possible sound i can get (bigtime audiophile)
bag: probly a nice slim notebook bag... havent decided
external HD: 500gb or 1TB external for movies and music
and an additonal battery of course
lemme know if im missing anything
btw sorry to threadjack but... does anyone have any knowledge of which is better for the m15x? i listen to alot of music and bluray movies... but better gaming sound wud also be cool... so in my case, wud an USB headphone amp such as headrooms total bithead be better? or wud the creative soundblaster notebook card be better? these wud be for use with my akg k601's... which sound better with sumkind of amplifer... (so basically amp vs souncard) -
I use Mac new keybored which i find fast responding and easy to use. also mouse is g9, which is now a must for me.
I was useing the AW keybored, but i didn't like the noise it make and i used to play wow and games on my Mac Pro. so time is important for me in WoW PVP...
EDIT: speakers i use my ipod touch head phone. the work nice. and sometime i use own AW speaker. they are perfect.
Cooler is NC1000, but am ordering NC2000, since AW m15x is huge to 1000 and 2000 will fit ok. -
Not a true gaming mouse but for travel I use the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000. Connects in a flash and never seems to miss a beat. Perfect size and great batt life off or a pair of AAA's. I don't know how much of the CPU's resources Bluetooth uses for mousing, but with a duo core I doubt its noticeable in gaming, just doesnt have the precision of a dedicated gaming mouse.

I have a Logitech G9 mouse & G15 keyboard while at home. The laptop sits on an NC1000 cooler as well.
On the road, I have the VX Revolution wireless mouse and X-Pad laptop "cooler" - it's just a piece of aluminum the laptop sits on that allows me to use the m15x on my lap.
