Hi there my m17x is about 4 months old and recently i wanted to install a second HDD into it.

Anyway long story short i found it did not come with the secondary HDD caddy or screws etc.

I Have contacted Dell and Alienware but i keep getting the same old rubbish "talk to dell/alienware.

    So:

Will i be able to get it for free as all new m17x's now ship with it
    or
Does anyone have or know where i can buy it.

    Thanks alot.

thanks alot guys - the upshot is that the helpful alienware guy said they will send me the necessary stuff once the warranty for my m17x has transferred to me (just got this m17x off ebay).

It turns out i think that the warranty cannot be transferred from the guy on eBay, Alienware does not like this. Therefore i cannot claim the secondary HDD caddy which i should have in the first place ! :(. Ultimately that means no second HDD for me if i cannot get this.

I have put a WTB in the market place but i'm also going to ask here as this is an alienware forum - could any m17x owner claim for the free parts and then i could purchase them from you?

I live in the UK btw.

    Thanks if anyone can help.

Which M17x do you got is it the m17x 1st gen or the new beast M17x...the ebay HDD caddy don't look like the latest GEN!!! most of the new M17x comes with HDD caddy/SATA adaptor and screws in a foam patch...installed indicating HDD1.

Erm im not entirely sure which gen this is - it was bought early august

    q9000
    4gb ddr3 1333
    260m

Its got the slot for the second HDD or "HDD1" but not the mount/caddy or screws etc like my primary drive.

Oh! Okay...so you do have the M17x..Lamborghini style....the one currently...well, good luck on finding the caddy...yours is currently missing just empty no black sheild what so ever? ...also make sure you get the adaptor...SATA to the main board! There was a thread here with some pictures....that shows how to do that!
