    Hey guys,
    I am interested in purchasing an Alienware m18x or Alienware m17x r3. Can anyone give me some advice on the laptop I should get with some reasons provided.

    Normally for M17X-R3, it's
    CPU: 2720 (or 2630, if you plan to replace it with the extreme)
    Graphics: 6970m (unless you want 3d)
    RAM: lowest possible (buy extra sticks for cheap)
    HD: lowest possible (buy extra for cheap)
    Screen: best possible
    Warranty: best you can afford

    Personal preference.

    What is your budget range?
    Because I think getting an M18x under 2400$ isn't a good idea and you might be better of with a loaded M17x.
