Ok just config this system. Little over $3,000 My company has 10% epp so it brings it to $2,747. Please look over and see if I need to make any changes. I am not a big gamer but want this laptop to last a few years. When I do play games I play High graphic games like sacred, devil may cry, GTA 4, Prototype.

SYSTEM COLOR Lunar Silver - Anodized Aluminum
    PROCESSOR Intel® Core™ i7 620M 2.66 GHz (3.33GHz Turbo Mode, 4MB Cache)
OPERATING SYSTEM Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English
WARRANTY AND SERVICE 4 Year Advanced Service Plan edit
VIDEO CARD Dual 1GB ATI Radeon™ Mobility HD 4870 in CrossfireX
    LCD PANEL 17-inch WideUXGA 1920 x 1200 RGB LED (1200p)
    MEMORY 4GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1066MHz
    HARD DRIVE 500GB 7,200RPM SATA-II HDD
    Slot-Load Dual Layer DVD Burner (DVD+-RW, CD-RW)
    WIRELESS CARDS Wireless 1520 802.11n Half Mini-Card

#1. Can I get Blu-Ray drive per phone order? Or is not offered in any way?
#2. Does RGB display make a difference? Should I stick with reg 1920x1200
#3. Why does everyone get 3 year instead of 4 year warranty?
#4. How do I go about getting the extra 3% from getting a dell card? Do i just place my order and at the end ask them about it or bring it up first?
#5. How hard is it and any tips on haggling to get anything extra like cheaper or even free battery would be better than nothing.

This may be long but I need for this to last a few years. My old Tosh. is like 6 years old and finally kicked the bucket.

1: Look like it depends on each country but why don't you just give 'em a call.

2: For picky person like me, WLED display of MacBook Pro and CCFL display of M17x R1 are already night and day. So you can be sure that RBG LED makes a huge difference. And don't even think about switching to 900p screen ;)

    3. I don't even understand why you ask such a question like that :D

    4. Don't know about this but it looks like if you have Dell preferred card you get 3% off on top of other discount. You need other one to answer this question tho.

    5. Tips? Keep calling until you feel satisfied with what they are willing to offer. You will likely to talk to about 3-7 different sale reps at least.

Or you can say something like: I really love to have the RBG screen. If I can't get that screen option it's a deal breaker for me then. But my credit line is only $2,800 so can you offer the RBG screen for free?

Edit: Your system specs is awesome and perfect for games you listed above. But I myself would like to know more about i7 620M vs i7 720QM.

Edit: You will want to read this thread before order:

Regarding the RGB LED screens... I might be wrong but there are some rumors that these are actually gen1 matrix which has a very poor lifespan. Again this is only a rumor, but still... I would be very careful rushing after that screen.

Ouch! You are scaring crap out of me :(

Do you have any specific link or article about that?

Does that mean Dell XPS also have short lifespan display?

I hope to prove wrong. The rumor comes from my good friend who is in the IT industry for 15 years like me, but unlike me he actually knows all the tech specs of all current and upcoming IT technology.
He is following the LED screens for quite some time and would be one of the first to jump on it if it would be beneficial...
Anyway, hope he's wrong, but if Dell got another faulty hardware part - we are screwed :(

50$ IMO is nothing for a much better screen. I was really surprised to see that price, it's ridiculously low for a far better technology that is supposed to be much better for your eyes. Don't you think Dell would jump on it and present it as something ALLPOWERFUL and charge you another 200$? ;)

At some point, you might get tired of spending too many hours on this machine.

That's what I thought. I was thinking I will get my GPU upgraded for free by Dell before I sell my system. Then I was afraid that a tech guy may end up breaking some parts when replacing GPU and causes my plan delayed. So I just sell my system to have a peace of mind.

I would have chosen the i7 core 720QM. Just because its a quadcore.
