    Hi all,

looking at grabbing a laptop for gaming at work and was trying to find a alienware that has the best gpu and isnt going to break the bank. i know some new gpu's are out/coming out and trying to locate which one, (14-17 or 18) has what. besides going through each configuration is there a faster way? also, dual video cards? on a laptop? which one allows me to go to sli/crossfire at a later date? sorry, unsure how to phrase the question, but i think you get the jist.. thanks!

The m18x allows you to have Crossfire/SLI option.

The current best mobile GPU is the 7970m hands down.
No 3D option though if that matters.

the m17x r4 and m18x r2 both have an option for the 7970 (with the m18x r2 being able to have dual). 7970 is the best mobile gaming gpu hands down. And will be for quit a while since apparently the Nvidia 680 wont be out for 6 months and will be less than 10% better... (while being 200 dollars more lol).

If money and weight isn't a huge issue i would go for the m18x with dual 7970's. Right now its the most powerful gaming laptop on the market PERIOD. one around 3k will give you great performance for years. Why be stationary with a desktop when you can get 100 FPS in BF3 on ultra with AA on in online multiplayer anywhere with WiFI :D.

Dual 7970m's will have you set for a couple of years, one on it's own is insanely powerful.

But drivers for them have been a bit iffy at the moment since they are pretty new, so do expect some bumps along the way while AMD/ATI iron them out with driver updates.
