How do I get the ALienware Alien logo and my service tag and express service code to show up in my computer properties again? It used to when I first got the M17x-R2 but then I did a re format and installed windows 7 ultimate and its not there anymore. I know there is a way to get it to show up again like I have to put the pic of the logo and a batch file with the codes and tag in a folder or something, but im not sure. Please Help.

I don't remember having service tag and so, but I have the logo.

I installed the Windows from the Alienware recovery DVD. Inside the \SOURCES folder, there was also "$OEM$" folder that contained these icons. They showed up when I installed the Windows. So look for it there?

Inside the folder \$OEM$\$$\SETUP\SCRIPTS there is a batch file that does something like this it seems (I haven't ran it; this is what I would try).

If that doesn't work, you can Google how to change your Windows installation info and just manually change it. This is how it looks for me:

I have service tag beneath my laptop + it's on the dell website as well, on AW box and I got 2 extra stickers. I haven't had the problem of the text being washed away, it still looks the same as when I got the laptop

Ya, I used the 120x120 logo image from the Recovery DVD with a program I found HERE that lets you change the OEM logo to whatever you want or add the manufacturer and model number to show.
